• Melivet is a honey-based ointment with a highly reproducible content of enzymes and essential oils.
• Hydrogen peroxide and gluconic acid are gradually formed by an enzymatic reaction of the enzyme glucose oxidase (coming from the bee) with glucose. This reaction takes place in humid surroundings. The gradually released hydrogen peroxide has a negative effect on germs, but not on normal cells. In addition the formed gluconic acid creates an acid environment. The natural essential oils promote the recovery of the irritated or damaged skin.
• The bitter taste of the essential oils, the animals will not lick the ointment and flies are kept away.
